Markets close: Sensex crashes 427 points; Nifty stays above 17,600 mark
Indian benchmark equity indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50 ended in red in the day’s trade on January 21. BSE Sensex crashed 427.44 points to close at 59,037.18, a fall of 0.72 per cent, while Nifty50 lost 139.85 points to end at 17,617.15, a fall of 0.79 per cent.
Top gainers on BSE Sensex were Hawkins Cookers, Hitachi Energy India, Jamna Auto Industries, Thomas Cook and CreditAccess Grameen; while top losers were Balrampur Chini Mills, Hindustan Oil Exploration, HSIL, NIIT and Greaves Cotton.
Top gainers on Nifty50 were Bajaj Auto, HUL, Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp and HDFC Bank; while top losers were Bajaj FinServ, Tech Mahindra, Shree Cement, Coal India and Divi's Lab.

Indian benchmark equity indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50 ended in red in the day’s trade on January 20. BSE Sensex crashed 634.20 points to close at 59,464.62, a fall of 1.06 per cent, while Nifty50 lost 181.40 points to end at 17,757.00, a fall of 1.01 per cent.
Top gainers on BSE Sensex were Tata Elxsi, Greaves Cotton, Kesoram Industries, Cosmo Films and HIL; while top losers were Arvind, Rallis India, Mastek, Hikal and Starlite Tech.
Top gainers on Nifty50 were PowerGrid Corp, Bharti Airtel, Grasim, JSW Steel and Tata Consumer Products; while top losers were Bajaj FinServ, Bajaj Auto, Divi's Lab, Infosys and TCS.

Indian benchmark equity indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50 ended in red in the day’s trade on January 19. BSE Sensex crashed 656.04 points to close at 60,098.82, a fall of 1.08 per cent, while Nifty50 lost 169.95 points to end at 17,943.10, a fall of 0.94 per cent.
Top gainers on BSE Sensex were OnMobile Global, HSIL, Dilip Buildcon, Tata Elxsi and Himadri Speciality Chemical; while top losers were Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals, Shipping Corporation of India, Ajanta Pharma, Sterlite Tech and Aptech.
Top gainers on Nifty50 were ONGC, Tata Motors, UPL, Coal India and Maruti Suzuki; while top losers were Infosys, Shree Cement, Asian Paints, Adani Ports and HUL.
