A massive fire broke out in Dubai early Monday morning at a 35-story high-rise building near the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, media reported.

Videos posted on social media showed flames engulfing several floors of a building said to belong to construction giant Emaar, a state-backed developer in Dubai.

The Associated Press reported that it was not immediately clear if anyone was injured in the fire. Local media also reported that no injuries have been reported yet.

The AP reported that the fire was extinguished by the time its reporter arrived on the scene. According to the report, the building is part of a series of towers called 8 Boulevard Walk by Emaar and now has black markings on its facade.

While Dubai Police and Dubai Civil Defense have yet to comment on the fire, videos captured them at the scene along with first responders, al Khaleej Times reported. Some eyewitnesses wrote on social networks that the fire alarm did not work. Emaar and the city-state’s Dubai media office have also not issued a statement.

Citing eyewitnesses, local media reports said the fire started in a lower apartment and then spread upstairs, and that emergency services soon extinguished the flames. There was reportedly a traffic back-up in the morning as nearby streets in the area were closed.
