Man dressed as groom in Congress’s protest over Adani issue in Delhi
Delhi: During Congress’ protest over Adani row, one of the protesters, dressed like a groom tries to cross the barricade
A man dressed as a groom in a kurta-pyjama, pagdi and a garland worth Rs 2,000 at a Congress protest in Delhi today on the Adani issue.
As the police over the barricade urged the protesters to remain calm, the agitators picked up the man and tried to send him over the barricades.
“You’re going to get hurt,” police can be heard saying as the crowd tried to push the man and were stopped by police.
Congress has been steadily attacking the government for weeks after Adani Group’s shares took a beating after US-based short seller, Hindenburg Research, leveled a litany against the group, including fraudulent transactions and share price manipulation.
The Gautam Adani-led group dismissed the allegations as lies and said it complied with all laws and disclosure requirements.
On Wednesday, the Congress and other opposition parties attempted to march from Parliament to the office of the Enforcement Directorate, but were stopped by police and CRPF personnel deployed outside the central agency’s office.
