Andrew Tate banned from Facebook and Instagram
Meta has banned influencer Andrew Tate from Facebook and Instagram for violating its policies.
The former kickboxer shot to fame in 2016 when he was kicked off TV show Big Brother over a video of him assaulting a woman.
She became famous online, where Twitter banned her for saying that women should “take responsibility” for being sexually assaulted.
At the time his account was deleted, he had 4.7 million followers on Instagram.
That number is up significantly from nearly a million followers in June. Meta said it had removed the kickboxing star from its platforms for violating its policy on dangerous organizations and individuals, but did not provide further details.
At the time of his Big Brother elimination, Mr Tate said the video had been faked, calling it “a complete lie trying to make me look bad”.
He has not yet commented on the Meta ban.
