Water level in the Yamuna River inched closer to the danger mark on August 1, due to incessant heavy rainfall in the northern part of the country. The water levels in the river rose to 205.30 metres at 9 am today. A flood alert is also declared after the river crosses the warning mark of 204.5 metres.
