In a shocking incident on New Year’s night in Delhi, a naked body of a woman was found in Delhi’s Kanjhawala area after she was dragged by a speeding car from Sultanpuri, news agency ANI reported. A woman was riding a scooter that was hit by a car in the early hours of Sunday and the woman was dragged several kilometers under the car.
All five occupants of the car were detained, ANI reported. Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal expressed shock at the incident and issued a notice to the Delhi Police. “A naked body of a girl was found in Delhi’s Kanjhawal, it is said that some boys in a drunken state hit her scooter with a car and dragged her for several kilometers. This matter is very dangerous, I am issuing a summons to the Delhi Police. The whole truth should come out.” Maliwal wrote on Twitter.
The killer car is a Baleno which was identified on Sunday and five people who were in the car when the shocking incident happened have been detained. Reports said that after the Baleno hit the woman’s scooter, they did not stop the car while the woman’s clothes became entangled in the car and she was dragged for several kilometers during which she died.
When questioned, the five accused said that they were not aware that their car was dragging the woman. However, the police believe that the woman was in a hurry after being hit. It is also being investigated whether there was any exchange of views between the five men and the woman.
The accused confessed to the cops that their car hit a scooter in the Sultanpuri area.
An eyewitness informed the police that a body was hanging under the car which was going towards Kutubgarh. The caller took down the car’s license plate number and notified the police. At the same time, in another call from the PČR, the police were told that the naked body of a woman was lying in the middle of the road. The body was sent to the hospital.
