The unpaid bills amounted to 5.8 million Indian rupees (over $70,700), according to The Indian Express.
A senior police officer mentioned that the staff and Dutta deleted entries, forged reports, provided forged cheques and documents, and misused the hotel's electronic system to avoid payment.
The hotel claims that the extensive forgery and falsification of accounts were done to siphon off cash payments.
Police investigations are currently underway, as reported by The Indian Express.
