Urida Health Minister Naba Das was shot dead by ASI rank officer Gopal Das on his way to the programme. According to sources, the policeman has been arrested.
A BDS leader was shot dead near Gandhi chowk near Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district on Sunday morning. After being shot, he sustained injuries and was immediately taken to the hospital.
The motive for the attack is not yet clear, but the minister is serious and the policeman has been taken into custody. According to sources, the firing was pre-planned. and the minister was shot in the chest.
Health Minister Naba Das is now being airlifted from Jharsuguda DHH to Bhubaneswar.
