The moment of Putin’s arrival at the Eurasian Economic Union summit

EAEU officials expect to discuss the creation of a common gas market and the establishment of an inter-ministerial council in the energy sector during the talks, the Russian president’s office said on Friday.

During the negotiations, they will also deal with further integration within the Union and the development of the single market for services.

The summit is also scheduled to adopt a package of documents and approve the main directions of the EAEU’s international activities for 2023.

In addition to the general meeting, Putin plans to hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the summit, including with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

This will be the second meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council this year. The previous event was held on May 27 via video conference under the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan.

The Eurasian Economic Union was established in Astana on 29 May 2014. It consists of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, while Uzbekistan, Moldova and Cuba have observer status.
