Tourist’s Bungee Cord Snaps Midair in Terrifying Moment: VIDEO
Surviving a Bungee Cord Snap: One Tourist’s Terrifying Experience
How much does it cost to try bungee jumping? After that, there is a possibility that there will be a few more. A surfer in Thailand climbed to the top of a 30-meter platform and fearlessly lifted himself up, only for the bungee cord to snap in mid-air and knock him to the ground.
A man who identified himself as Mike visited Pattaya, Thailand, a coastal city known for its beaches. Looking for the ultimate thrill, he went bungee jumping and went to Changtai Thappraya Safari and Adventure Park, which offers such adventures from a 10-story platform over the lake.
Mike stepped onto the platform and waited until he was 30 feet in the air, his legs and hips firmly attached. At the top of the height of our platform, it stops at the entrance of the gate to allow the next drop.
The pedestrian climbed out of the tower with his arms outstretched and waited for the moment when the bungee cord reached its full length and lifted him into the sky. But that moment never came.
Instead, when he hit the ground, he saw the water approaching the second, and the bungee cord snapped. With 16 feet between him and the lake, the climber was literally in free fall, his body twisted by the force of the broken bungee cord, before hitting the water.
Mike hit the water with such speed that the impact knocked him unconscious. Fortunately, he regained consciousness underwater and swam to safety after hitting the bottom of the lake.
“The pain was so bad that I felt dizzy. When I stretched out my hand, the bottom hit the hardest,” told local news agency HK01.
The bungee operator claimed the climber’s fall was an accident
Bystanders helped Mike out of the water, after which paramedics took him to the hospital. He was released shortly after doctors said he was in “good condition”.
The traveler strongly disagrees with this assessment and says he was badly injured in a bungee accident. She said she was “bleeding” and missing a layer of skin from her armpit after eating. In addition, there are deep wounds on the left knee and left eye.
Worse, when Mike returned to his hometown in Hong Kong, a CT scan revealed that he had contracted a lung infection during the trip. The walker believed that it could be the result of swallowing dirty lake water during the bungee incident.
He is now looking at nearly $10,000 in medical bills. The park reportedly offered to pay him $350 for tickets ($86) and medical expenses, but nothing else. However, travel insurance covers additional costs.
After the incident, bungee jumping operator Natthaphon okokcharoen apologized to the injured tourists. “Thappraya Safari has been open for seven years and nothing like this has happened,” he said. “All our equipment is licensed. “I would like to apologize for this incident.”
