Samsung Galaxy S23 series launch live updates: 200MP camera, 4K 60fps HDR video recording
Samsung Galaxy S23 series launch highlights: next-gen flagships unveiled starting at $799
Samsung’s “Unpacked” event takes place tonight in San Francisco, and the company is holding its first in-person event in three years. The star of the evening will be the Galaxy S23 series, where three smartphones are expected: Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23. The new Samsung Galaxy Book laptops are also expected to appear at tonight’s show. The event takes place at the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco, starting on February 1 at 11:30 PM IST.
The Galaxy S23 series will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with at least 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage for the base variant. Now, whether Samsung will make improvements on Qualcomm’s high-end chipset is something we’ll have to wait and see. All three variants of the Galaxy S23 are expected to feature an improved camera system with better low-light photos. The floating camera design of the S22 Ultra is also expected in the S23+ and S23 variants.
Samsung will also introduce a 200MP camera on the S23 Ultra. Samsung announced earlier this month that the 200MP ISOCELL HP2 Sensor is entering mass production and will likely be part of the S23 Ultra. How the company implements this and what improvements it will bring to the camera will be closely watched.
Samsung is also expected to announce its flagship Android tablets, which will likely be powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. However, we may not see any new smart wearables at the Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event. The Samsung Galaxy Book 3 is likely to be based on the latest 13th generation Intel Core processor and some variants are also expected to have a dedicated graphics card.
