New Indian Naval Ensign: A fitting tribute to the rich Indian maritime heritage
Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the new naval lieutenant and dedicated it to his flag bearer Chhatrapati Shivaji as a sign of liberation from the colonial past. The flag is in the upper state, a blue octagon with the national coat of arms resting on a cool anchor, mounted on a shield adorned with the naval insignia of Sam no Vanunah, Devnagari.
