India Wins Epic Match Against West Indies in Cape Town
India vs. West Indies Women’s World Cup T20 2023: A disciplined bowling performance from Team India’s bowlers kept Windies to 118/6 in 20 overs. Opener Stafanie Taylor top-scored for West Indies with a 40-ball 42, while Shemaine Campbelle contributed 30. Deepti Sharma was India’s top bowler with three wickets in 15 runs, while Pooja Vastrakar and Renuka Singh took one each.
Chasing 119 for victory, India lost their top three batsmen in the first seven overs, making it a tricky ride. However, the duo of Harmanpreet Kaur and Richa Ghosh once again joined hands in the middle and forged a brilliant fifty-run partnership to guide India to victory.
Earlier, West Indies captain Hayley Matthews won the toss and elected to bat against India. India made a few changes with vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and spinner Devika Vaidya replacing Yastika Bhatia and Harleen Doel. West Indies made one change as spinner Karishma Ramharack came in for Zaida James.
