New Zealand beat India by 8 wickets in the match number 28 of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 31.

Needing just 111 runs to win, New Zealand cruised to victory in 14.3 overs for the loss of 2 wickets.

Daryl Mitchell 49 runs (35 balls, 4 fours, 3 sixes) and Martin Guptill 20 runs (17 balls, 3 fours) started off well for New Zealand.

Kiwi captain Kane Williamson see through the run chase with his knock of 33 not out (31 balls, 3 fours).

Jasprit Bumrah was the only Indian bowler to make an impact in the NZ innings, as he picked up 19/2 (off 4 overs).

NZ leggie Ish Sodhi was adjudged Man of the Match for his bowling figures of 17/2 off 4 overs.

Earlier, NZ skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and invited Virat Kohli-led Team India to bat.

India never looked comfortable, as the team failed to accelerate as it kept on losing wickets at regular intervals.

Ishan Kishan 4 runs (8 balls, 1 four), who replaced Suryakumar Yadav (back spasm), opened the innings along with KL Rahul 18 runs (16 balls, 3 fours). Kishan started the procession, which continued till the end for Team India.

Rohit Sharma 14 runs (14 balls, 1 four, 1 six), Rishabh Pant 12 runs (19 balls) and Virat Kohli 9 runs (17 balls) too fell cheaply.

Ravindra Jadeja 26 not out (19 balls, 2 fours, 1 six) and Hardik Pandya 23 runs (24 balls, 1 four) tried their best in the end, but India could barely manage to cross 100-run mark as the team ended up with 110/7 in 20 overs.

Trent Boult (20/3 off 4 overs), Tim Southee (26/1 off 4 overs), Adam Milne (30/1 off 4 overs) and Ish Sodhi (17/2 off 4 overs) were the wicket-takers for the Kiwis.
