India crushed Namibia by 9 wickets in match number 42 of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on November 8.

Needed 133 runs to win, India scored 136/1 in 15.2 overs (28 balls remaining), thanks to brilliant opening stand of 86 runs from Rohit Sharma 56 runs (37 balls, 7 fours, 2 sixes) and KL Rahul 54 not out (36 balls, 4 fours, 2 sixes) in 9.5 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav 25 not out (19 balls, 4 fours) too joined the party and ensured that India end up winning without any more hiccups.

Jan Frylinck (19/1 off 2 overs) was the only wicket-taker for Namibia.

Ravindra Jadeja was adjudged Man of the Match for his bowling figures of 16/3 off 4 overs.

Earlier, India captain Virat Kohli won the toss and invited Gerhard Erasmus-led Namibia to bat.

Namibia struggled against Indian spinners but managed to score 132/8 in 20 overs.

David Wiese 26 runs (25 balls, 2 balls) was the top-scorer for Namibia. Stephan Baard was the only other Namibia batsman to score over 20 runs.

Jan Frylinck 15 not out (15 balls) and Ruben Trumpelmann 13 not out (6 balls, 1 four, 1 six) ensured Namibia cross 130-run mark.

Spin-twins Ravindra Jadeja (16/3 off 4 overs) and Ravichandran Ashwin (20/3 off 4 overs) were at their wily best against Namibia batsmen. Jasprit Bumrah also chipped in with 2 wickets (16/2 off 4 overs).

India are already out of the semifinal race and the match is of academic interest for both the teams.
