Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on September 17 chaired the 45th meeting of the GST Council in Lucknow. It is the first time in 20 months that the GST council conducted any physical meeting. The key agenda of the meeting was how to bring diesel, petrol and other petroleum products in the ambit of GST. In the meeting, it was decided that petrol and diesel will not come under GST regime.
