Delhi: AAP govt lowers legal age to drink from 25 to 21 years

Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia has said that the legal age to drink in the state will be lowered from 25 to 21 years. Sisodia made the announcement at a press conference on Delhi’s excise policy on March 22. He said that no new liquor stores will be opened in Delhi and age-gating will be strictly implemented. He also said that there are 2,000 illegal liquor shops in Delhi and the new excise reforms will act as a major blow to liquor mafia.
