New Delhi: A gym owner was shot dead in his office in East Delhi’s Preet Vihar on Friday by three men who took away a CCTV recorder, complicating the investigation, police said.
The victim, 45-year-old Mahendra Aggarwal, ran the Energy Gym and Spa chain and also sold gym equipment. Around 8 pm, he was in his company headquarters office above one of his gyms when three armed men entered and immediately fired a series of shots at him. He was killed by a bullet to the head, police said.
As they fled, the killers took the recording equipment connected to the office’s security cameras.
Police are now scanning footage from other CCTV cameras in the area for clues. The forensic team also inspected the crime scene.
Police said relatives are asking if they suspect anyone was involved or if any animosity he had.
