Arsenal vs Bournemouth final score, result, highlights as Gunners come from behind to win 3-2

Bournemouth scored the second fastest goal from kick-off in Premier League history, taking the kick into the Arsenal box and scoring through Philip Billing after nine seconds.

Thanks to a great double save by Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto, the guests absorbed subsequent Arsenal attacks and even threatened with a second. That second goal eventually came after Marcos Senesi’s second-half header from a corner kick. With a 2-0 loss, it looked like Arsenal were on course for just their fourth defeat of the season.

But Arsenal defended themselves with two goals in the space of eight minutes. Thomas Partey struck first after a rare moment of poor defensive play by Bournemouth. Then two substitutes linked up with Reiss Nelson who crossed which Ben White fired home with the referee confirming the ball had crossed the line to level the score at 2-2.

With 20 minutes remaining, it looked like it would only be a matter of time before Arsenal won it, but the Gunners’ attack seemed to fizzle out in the closing minutes. But there was time for one last flare as the last corner of the game deflected to Nelson who unleashed a sweet strike to win the game for the Gunners.

“My eyes lit up,” Nelson said after the game. “It’s been a tough couple of months for me coming back from the [thigh] injury. Everyone knows how hard I’ve been working in the background. So when the ball went in, it was a great moment for me.”
